Help Me! Who is the Sex and the City Artist?

I keep hitting the wall this morning. I can't source the artist who painted this amazing LOVE painting/mural inside Carrie Bradshaw's newly decorated apartment. (in the Sex and the City movie). It looks 'urbanoutfitterish, anthroish, freepeopleish....etsyamazingish'. It was quite large. And I believe it was hanging in her front hallway area. This is driving me nuts. Can you help? (By the way, doesn't Miranda look amazing in this still)

Update: Wow! Movie doubles expectations. $$$

Sex and the City

We went. We saw. We loved. We go again. And again. And then buy the DVD. I got Carried away.

Now this. This is fascinating to listen to.....

How she writes a song.

Death by Cake = Muerto Por Un Pastel

Some people want to die in their sleep. Not me. Thank you Julia Fuentes. (And if one of the things on your 'Bucket List' is to learn Spanish, visit her daily.) Read/Learn how to make me a fabulous cake here. Also, let me introduce you to the Canadian Queen of Cakes too. (read her business success story here) "Dufflet Rosenberg's anonymity is surprising. After all, it's not as though she's made herself inconspicuous. With her mop of curly red locks, Toronto's self-styled "Queen of Cake" is hard to miss riding to work on her vintage purple Moulton, a miniature bicycle with tiny wheels. Like her bike, Rosenberg is also diminutive, standing only four feet 10 inches. But don't let the pint-sized stature or eccentricities fool you. Behind the quirky façade lies the business mind that has already built Dufflet into one of the largest and most respected purveyors of fresh, premium confections across southern Ontario and parts of Quebec. Now Rosenberg - along with Bertrand, Dufflet's president - is trying to repeat a local brand success story across North America with new lines of packaged and frozen goods, including cakes, cookies and tarts. The goal: to double sales over the next five years."-National Post. Yummmmyyyy. Oooooh, I've gone sugar mad this morning...how about a calendar to keep folded in your wallet. All the good days to have cake in 2008! (I must confess, it is my firm belief that if a day ends in the letter 'y' then it's a good day for cake.)

Summer 2008 Must Have Accessory

Liberty Post says: "Indoors or out. Don't be caught without. A 'green' kickback to the seventies, makes a return to announce that once again, this is hip and cool. No table scape will be without."

Vintage Carpenter Tools

I love old tools. The history, the patina; the story...the creations. The long hours of love making with wood and sawdust. Pencil behind the ear. Rusty nails. Cold coffee in a chipped cup. Perhaps it's whiskey I'm seeing. Cigarette smoke swirling above his head. He rolled that puff himself. Oil lamp flickering in the messy shed. Black lab sleeping under his feet. Sitting on the wobbly stool watching him work. Yes, these are the best memories. Can you remember?

Julia Fuentes and My Favorite Food Group

I know that you know that I know that 'cake' is my favorite food group. I could eat it all day. Any kind. Any where. I will accept cake shipments from overseas as well. (in case you were considering this act of extreme kindness). This photo is via this new Spanish blogger. It's very cool because she posts in Spanish and translates in english. Her blog is a whole lotta fun. (And fattening) Julia, Welcome to our fab circle of blogging pals! And Julia, please translate: "Death by Cake".

Jeashoots and Jennifer (Sister Talent)

It's not fair. One family shouldn't be given all this talent. Humbling isn't it? Locks by Jeashoots (Made by Girl's Sister). Cards by Made by Girl (Jeashoots Sister)

My Visual Happiness

I see. I love. Dirty faces and all. Oh, by the way, I love this too.

Yardsailor

I am the 'Yardsailor'. I leave my shore early. Every Saturday I rise up before the sun awakes. I have an embroidered 'R' on my upcycled denim jacket. The 'R' stands for recycle of course. And reuse. And remember. The Yardsailor tries very hard to remember the previous owners of her exquisite finds. Giving them a seaside honor. Or a portrait at the very least.

Ropeboard With Me (If you get queasy..Beware) or What do you get when you mix Tony Hawk with Tarzan?

For a moment put away all your fears of flying and heights. Imagine me lying on the dirt, flat on my back, camera pointed to the far reaching canopy of the tree-tops - taking photos of my son and his merry friends. Air-Boarding (Ropeboarding)..Part Cirque du Soleil, part skateboarding, part swing set, part snowboarding, part water skiing. This is a big difference from hopscotch or four square. This takes guts. At first I was like 'You've got to be kidding me. You're going to do what? With no safety net?' and then once I got past the over protective mama role and shifted into my photographer role, I was amazed. Exhilarated. Watching them was truly incredible. You could sense their feeling of freedom of flight on their faces. It was like ballet in motion. A big trend. Yes, a new youth trend. Marketers are scratching their heads now. How does a company capitalize on this new extreme sport which started in Kitchener, Ontario? Oh well, at least my 12 year old son is not 'Zorbing'....yet. Now that I have your attention (cause I know you can't wait to try this at home), you too can ropeboard. All you need is a roof, a rope, an old tree, an old skateboard, a water ski rope with bar and a ladder. (support bra?) Tie the rope to the tree. Climb up to the roof and jump off. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....... Watch this!

Dad, Mary Had a Little Lamb

Her fleece was white as snow and every where that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go. And do you know why? Because May 24th was the day that Sarah Josepha Hale published 'Mary had a Little Lamb'. (In 1830) I always knew you had a superstar connection out there. All great people are born on May 24th. (Queen Victoria too) I love you Dad, but gee, I don't think you are as committed to reading my blog as Mom is. I am trying to build traffic you know. Gosh, I will forgive you just this once. Have a wonderful day. Hope you don't get in too much trouble. Try to move those legs away from your computer today. It's really good for circulation. Ooops, I almost forgot. I think it is so adorable that all babies in Canada that are born on May 24th are wrapped and cuddled in a darling Baby Lamb Blanket. (in honor of that famous song) I know you still have yours in that old box tucked under your bed. I love that little outfit. So sweet. Just like you! Happy Baaaaaday. xo

Liberty Post Editor Note:
Like the Bear Cub Baby Blanket before it, the Baby Lamb Blanket ($40) instantly transforms your cute little baby into an equally cute little animal. Not only will your baby look like a cute little lamb, they will also be extra warm and comfortable in this silky-soft 100% polyester swaddling blanket. I guess wool would have been the more obvious choice, but it sure is very, very cute.

David Cook, The 2-Hour Ford Commercial

For any of you who are wanting/yearning to break into television listen up. TV Exec's don't really care about the program as long as it has good ratings - really good ratings. The whole purpose of broadcasting is to sell ads. It is a bottom-line driven business. Good shows = more advertising dollars = more profits. With 95+million votes I suppose the Fox Network is pretty psyched about it's ad revenue this week. The American Idol finale was just a big long - 2 hour long Ford Commercial. (and Coke and AT&T) So for all you closet script writers, future show creators and producers (oh yeah, remember, it's the Producers in TV who are the kings, not the directors), just come up with some quirky, unique, never before seen fresh idea and you're in.
